Former Mountaineer Arrested And Charged With Misdemeanors

Ex-Mountaineer forward Teddy Allen was arrested early Thursday morning in Wichita, Kansas in relation to an incident that occurred earlier that night. The 21-year old was held  in Sedgwick County Jail and was later released on a $3,500 bond. Allen is currently a student and basketball player at Wichita State University where he transferred after leaving WVU.

On Friday, he appeared before a Wichita Municipal Court where he was charged with a domestic violence property crime and petty theft. These misdemeanors are a result of accusations that include the destruction of an iPhone 7, as well as the theft of apartment and vehicle keys. The police reports and emergency service calls from the incident indicate a woman alleged that Allen entered her home, strangled her, and fled on foot with her phone and keys. WSU athletic director Darren Boatright would only comment that the university was aware of the situation and were gathering details to better understand the situation.

Teddy Allen is a graduate of Boys Town High School in Boys Town, Nebraska and attended West Virginia University for his freshman year, averaging seven points per game on the basketball team. He transferred to Wichita State following that season and sat out the duration of the 2018-19 schedule under NCAA rules.
