Former West Virginia QB Clint Trickett Lands Job in SEC
With the college football coaching carousel in full swing, a former star Mountaineer landed a big job in the SEC.
Clint Tricektt, who played as WVU’s quarterback from 2013-14, will take over as the new quarterbacks coach at Arkansas. Trickett will jump from Jacksonville State, where he spent the 2025 season in the same role, to join the SEC.
In 2025, Trickett led a Gamecocks’ offense that averaged 419.2 yards per game, which ranked 35th in the country.
Prior to his lone season at Jacksonville State, Trickett spent a year at Georgia Southern that followed three years at Marshall. Before joining the Thundering Herd in 2021, Trickett coached tight ends and quarterbacks at FAU from 2017-20 and started his coaching career at East Mississippi CC in 2015.
Trickett began his college football career at Florida State, but chose to transfer to West Virginia in 2013 after graduating in three years.
His best season came as a senior in 2014, where he completed 67.1% of his passes for 3,285 yards and 18 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He finished his WVU career with for 4,890 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns in two seasons.
