Former WVU DL Eddie Kelly Fighting for Extra College Season

Add a second former West Virginia defensive star looking to gain another season of eligibility. Joining Jordan Scruggs, Eddie Kelly is also pursuing one extra year of college football. LockedOn West Virginia host Mountaineer Paul was first with the news.

With a hearing schedule for next week, Kelly hopes to play the 2026 season at WVU and delay his possible career in the NFL or UFL.

Kelly, who transferred to West Virginia ahead of the 2025 season, made 26 tackles, recorded three pass deflections and half of a sack. Before becoming a Mountaineer, he spent 2024 with Missouri as part of a 10-3 Tigers team.

He was at Georgia Tech in 2023 and USF in 2022.
