Former WVU forward Taj Thweatt announced on Sunday night that he’s committing to Fairmont State. Thweatt entered the transfer portal this spring after two years at Temple and will now play college basketball once again in the state of West Virginia.

Since transferring from West Virginia in 2022, Thweatt has been a part of Coastal Carolina and Temple’s programs. Thweatt appeared in 11 games with the Owls this past season.

Thweatt played 12 games through two seasons at West Virginia, averaging 0.6 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.2 assists.

The Wildwood, Nj. native was recruited to WVU as a three-star prospect. Thweatt was in the 2020 recruiting class with Isaiah Cottrell and Seny N’Diaye, who both have also departed from the program since.
