Former WVU guard Adam Pankey was released by the Miami Dolphins yesterday, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Jackson also states in his tweet that Pankey could return to the team on the practice squad.

Pankey appeared in 36 games for WVU from 2014-16. Despite a DUI arrest prior to the 2016 season which suspended him for the season opener he appeared in 12 games total and was named to the All-Big 12 second team. He went un-drafted in the 2017 NFL draft, but signed with the Green Bay Packers where he played from 2017 up until the start of the 2019 season.

Prior to that season, he was waived and signed with the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans in 2019. He later signed with the Miami Dolphins and made his first career start. He’s been used in both tackle and guard positions in the NFL. Last year, he appeared in a career-high four games with the Dolphins.
