George Porcha, a former high school and women’s college basketball coach, including time at WVU, has been charged with sex offenses by police officials in Arlington County, VA.

Porcha, 53, is charged with “carnal knowledge of a minor and taking indecent liberties with children,” according to the police report obtained by multiple media outlets.

To this point, at least two female victims have come forward and accused Porcha. The alleged abuse is believed to have happened between 2000 and 2003 while Porcha was coaching at Washington-Liberty High School, which was named Washington-Lee High at the time, per reports.

Porcha, who now resides in North Carolina, is a Spring Valley, NY native.

Porcha spent five years on the West Virginia women’s basketball staff. He was eventually promoted to the title of associate head coach under Mike Carey. During his time at WVU, the Mountaineers made four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament and recorded the best record in program history in 2009-10.

Porcha has also worked as an assistant with the Boston College and Ole Miss women’s programs.

WV Sports Now will provide more updates on this story as they are released.
