A former WVU coach from Neal Brown’s staff is headed to a familiar place for his next role. Bilal Marshall will join the offensive staff at Purdue to coach at the school he enjoyed success as a player.

Marshall, who cut his coaching teeth at West Virginia as a graduate assistant from 2020-21, returned to Morgantown before the 2023 season when he was hired to be the program’s wide receivers coach. He worked at VMI prior to returning to West Virginia.
The Boilermakers will now look to Marshall to help get their program turned around. Purdue finished 2024 at 1-11.
Despite not experiencing a long professional career as a player, Marshall did spend some time in the CFL and was Purdue’s leading receiver during his senior season in 2012.
Marshall has been constantly regarded as one of the best young assistant coaches in the country.
