All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.

Corey McIntyre Jr. isn’t the first player with that name to suit up for the Mountaineers. His father, Corey Sr., played under head coach Rich Rodriguez as a linebacker, defensive end and fullback during the early 2000s before embarking on a decade-long NFL career.

Corey Jr. committed to WVU out of high school and broke into the lineup as a reserve last season, rotating in for parts of nine games. A 6-foot-3, 290 pound redshirt junior, the younger McIntyre could be poised for a breakout season in year two under Rodriguez and defensive coordinator Zac Alley.

Last Year: McIntyre appeared in nine games as a reserve, acclimating to new defensive coordinator Zac Alley’s system.

Stats: 13 tackles (four solo), 0.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss in 2025.

Post-Camp Outlook: The Mountaineers have 16 players listed on the defensive line this season: 11 of them are freshmen, redshirt freshmen, or transfers from Division II or lower. As one of the few members of the group with legitimate Power Four experience, expect McIntyre’s playing time to take a jump in 2026.

Projected Role: McIntyre should serve as one of the Mountaineers’ lead contributors at defensive end alongside Zeke Durham-Campbell and Nate Gabriel.

Accolades, Highlights: A three-star recruit and two-time all-state honoree in football-crazy Florida, McIntyre is a legacy Mountaineer who earned praise early in his career for effort on the scout team.
