WVU has a new leader of creative and digital media, meaning the production of the graphics and other content you see across social media will be led by someone new – Ross Marra.

And for those unfamiliar with Marra, he’s a West Virginia guy. He’s a Bridgeport native to be exact and was announced as WVU’s assistant athletics director on Tuesday. Marra now takes his talents to the program he grew up rooting for after spending the last three years with Wake Forest.

Marra, who revealed the news to his personal following a few days before the school made it public, appears extremely excited to be returning home for this next step in his career.

“I could not be more excited to be heading 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄. Next week I’ll be starting as Assistant AD of Digital Media at WVU! From as early as I can remember my life has revolved around WVU athletics. It fills me with immense pride to take on this responsibility!,” he said in a tweet.

He then expressed his feelings about the state of the WVU athletic department in terms of its efforts in digital media as part of West Virginia’s press release with the news.

“I am honored to come home to West Virginia and work with a great creative staff to deliver powerful storytelling pieces, whether poignant, exciting or both in a creative and meaningful way,” said Marra. “There is a strong foundation here, but the goal will be to further elevate the already well-respected brand of WVU Athletics on the national, regional and local level.

“I know this state, I know this fan base and I certainly know WVU Athletics, which makes this not only a tremendous career opportunity, but a chance to make a difference for a University of which I have been a lifelong fan.”
