Mountaineers Extend Offer to 2020 Shooting Guard

If West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins promises to fix the issues that plague his group of young Mountaineers, he will.

One way to do just that is by recruiting.

This past week, assistant coach Ron Everhart extended an offer to 2020 Monacan (VA) guard Joe Bamisile.

“Excited to get the offer,” Bamisile told DubVNation. “Wasn’t expecting it when I got it because it was right before a game. So going into the game, I had to prove to myself why I deserved it and I played pretty well.”

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard does not have a top list of schools at this time, but had positive remarks on the Big 12 and West Virginia’s press defense.

“Pressing is the most fun style of basketball and I enjoy it a lot. We also do it a lot at my school. I could definitely see myself playing in [the Big 12]. It’s competitive and it’s a great conference.”

Bamisile plans on visiting Morgantown within the next few weeks, adding he is looking for “a good fit”, a “winning mindset” and a team that allows him to “play his game” and gives him the best shot at making it to the NBA.

Above all else, Bamisile believes he can be part of the solution in Huggins’ search to fix West Virginia basketball.

“I think after they get some players that fit the program, they will get back on track. And I feel like I am one of those people.”
