New York Giants Cut Former WVU Wide Receiver David Sills V
Will Grier and David Sills V wreaked havoc upon Big 12 defenses in 2017 and 2018, but they haven’t had much NFL success. And now they’re both off NFL rosters for the time being.
After Grier was cut by the Carolina Panthers Tuesday morning, Sills was waived by the New York Giants ahead of the 4 p.m. roster culling deadline, despite a strong preseason performance.
The #Giants are waiving WR David Sills, per source. Had a strong preseason. Another to watch on waivers.

In three games with the Giants, Sills caught seven passes (on 14 targets) for 94 yards and a touchdown at a 13.4 yards per reception clip. He’s been with the Giants since 2019, mainly spending time on the practice squad, and hasn’t seen any NFL action yet.
Despite being waived by the Giants, Sills will likely be able to parlay a good preseason performance into another practice squad spot for another NFL team.
