Pat McAfee Show to Debut Thursday on ESPN with Delay to Manage Cursing

Pat McAfee Show is planned to air for the first time on Thursday for ESPN’s networks. McAfee, the former West Virginia kicker, signed a $10 million deal with the worldwide leader of sports in May.

McAfee’s show will begin at noon and will run until 3 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN+. In the final hour, the show will only be available on ESPN+ and ESPN’s YouTube channel.

Here’s the catch. McAfee’s show will be aired on a delay to manage the cursing, according to Awful Announcing. ESPN is owned by Disney, so McAfee and his crew will have to calm it down with the laid-back profanity everyone enjoys. McAfee has mentioned that he will try to cut down on the f-bombs but doesn’t want to get rid of it completely. There’s an alternative way to watch the Pat McAfee Show uncensored on YouTube.

McAfee has been associated with ESPN for the past year working with the College GameDay show. McAfee just entered his second season working with Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.

McAfee has become a media star thanks to his popular podcast in his post-NFL days. After retiring from the NFL at the young age of 29, he signed a deal with Barstool and helped grow both that brand and his own in the sports media world. He left Barstool in 2018 and formed his own media company, Pat McAfee Incorporated, where his podcasts are now produced.

McAfee has done a show for ESPN MegaCasts throughout the college football season, where he and his podcast crew, the Pat McAfee Show, watch the game and commentate while occasionally having guests, similar to ESPN’s popular MNF Manning Cast staring Peyton and Eli Manning.
