Knipper walk-ed on at WVU prior to the 2019 season, after spending two seasons at Western Michigan. He played in four games in 2019 and saw time on special teams in every game this season. He started the team’s opener against Eastern Kentucky while WVU’s other tight ends were serving a one-game suspension.
Knipper will transfer as a redshirt-junior with as many as two seasons of eligibility remaining.
