The Mountaineers were originally scheduled to play Texas A&M as both teams’ season-openers on Nov. 25. After the Aggies withdrew from the event, however, Northern Iowa replaced them as WVU’s opponent.
Now South Dakota State, who replaced Utah in the event, will be WVU’s opponent for the first round on the 25th, according to Rothstein. The Jackrabbits finished 22-10 last season, going 13-3 in the Summit League.
Rothstein also reported that Western Kentucky will be Creighton’s replacement in the event. Creighton withdrew earlier this week.
