Rhett, the son of former WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez, played the entire game against Troy, and it’s unknown at what point Rhett sustained the reported lung injury. Warhawk Report, a Rivals’ channel for ULM, reported that Rhett suffered a partially collapsed lung.
Rich thanked those who have kept Rhett and the Rodriguez family in mind with thoughts and prayers on Sunday night through a Twitter post. Rhett’s injury and the duration of his hospital stay are currently unspecified, and he is currently still in the ICU at St. Francis.
Our family would like to thank everyone who has reached out with their thoughts and prayers for Rhett, as he is currently in the ICU at the hospital because of a lung injury from last night’s game against Troy.
