Sean Martin Sticking Around to Maintain Continuity on West Virginia’s DL

The list of names WVU’s NIL collective has signed to new deals to retain as Mountaineers continues to grow. On Monday, the Trust announced defensive lineman Sean Martin can now be added to the list.
Martin, who stepped up into a leadership role for the defensive line in 2023 after the departure of Dante Still to the NFL, will be sticking around Morgantown to build on West Virginia’s climb as a team. Maintaining Martin also keeps another West Virginia native on the roster.

The Bluefield, West Virginia native recorded 27 total tackles and one sack during the 2023 season.
“Sean Martinโs played a bunch of football. Heโs as talented as anyone we have. And my expectation is his production is going to match his talent, maybe even exceed that this year. But heโs also one of the best people we have in our program,” said Brown of Martin before the season. Those are some big words and high praise for the Bluefield High School product.
