Just four months after committing to transfer to WVU, running back LJ Turner is returning to the Division II level of football. Turner announced that he signed with the Lenoir-Rhyne program in North Carolina.

Turner committed to West Virginia in January and then took part in the spring practice period before his exit when Rich Rodriguez cut down the roster. WVU has since added multiple Division II star backs, looking to elevate their games instead of Turner.

In 2024 at Catawba Community College in Salisbury, N.C, Turner rushed for 1,224 yards and scored 13 touchdowns on 174 carries.

Turner has one year left of eligibility remaining.

Turner, listed at 5-foot-9, 195-pounds out of Palm Bay, Fla., has 19,61 yards and 20 touchdowns in his college career.
