Sherman Named Big 12 Player of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that WVU guard Taz Sherman was the Big 12 Player of the Week.

This comes after Sherman was named to the Charleston Classic All-Tournament team.

Sherman averaged 20.0 points in the three games played last week. The Missouri City, Texas, native scored a career-high of 27 points against Elon last Thursday.

This is Sherman’s first Big 12 Player of the Week award.

In 2021, Sherman is averaging 19.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals. The fifth-year senior is shooting 38 percent from the field through five games.
