Tennessee prep kicker/punter Daniel Bethel claims offer from WVU

West Virginia appears to be interested in adding a special teams specialist to its 2021 recruiting class.
Daniel Bethel, 6-foot-2, 185 pound kicker and punter from Tennessee announced Tuesday on Twitter that the Mountaineers had become the first schools to offer him a scholarship.
Blessed to announced my first offer to West Virginia University. Thank You to @TQHancock and @CoachPorterWVU. #TakeMeHome21 #eyesup #TheWilhoitWay pic.twitter.com/c3MxcGtGVA

Bethel, a standout at Tennessee’s Anderson County High, is listed as a five-star kicker and punter by Kohl’s (the football kicking camps, not the department store). In 2019, Bethel was a Class 4A all-state first team selection by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
West Virginia currently has six players listed as a kicker or punter on its 2020 roster, with just one of those — redshirt senior Evan Staley — due to leave the program by the time Bethel would arrive.
