WVSN Notebook 3/29: WVU Football, Basketball Recruiting Activity
The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia University Athletics.
Update (9:30 PM) –
WVU Baseball dropped their series opener against the Oklahoma State Sooners despite a heroic eight inning, 13 strikeout effort from ace Aidan Major. Oklahoma State took an early lead with a solo home run, stretching their advantage to 2-0 in the sixth inning with an RBI double.
Grant Hussey homered in the seventh to break up the shutout, and the Mountaineers put runners on second and third the following inning thanks to heads up baserunning and Sooners miscues. They couldn’t plate the tying run, however, and went down in order in the ninth to end the game.
They’ll look to tie the series at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
