Following a flurry of top-10 upsets last week, the West Virginia basketball team has jumped up to No. 6 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll.

The Mountaineers were No. 10 in last week’s poll and convincingly defeated TCU and Kansas State last week. One of those top-10 teams that took a loss last week was WVU’s next opponent, No. 3 Baylor. The Bears suffered their first defeat of the season against No. 13 Kansas on Saturday. WVU is scheduled to host three home games this week, the last week of the regular season, Tuesday against Baylor, Thursday against TCU and Saturday against No. 17 Oklahoma State.

Other Big 12 teams in this week’s poll include No. 3 Baylor, No. 13 Kansas, No. 15 Texas, No. 16 Oklahoma, No. 17 Oklahoma State and No. 18 Texas Tech. Ahead of WVU in the rankings are Gonzaga, Michigan, Baylor, Illinois and Iowa.
