WVU Basketball players are hosting a free camp for boys and girls in elementary and middle school on Sunday, Oct. 15. The camp will run from 12-3 p.m. at Braxton County Middle School.

Country Roads Trust, WVU’s NIL collective, is running the camp with GoMart Stores sponsoring the event. Here are the athletes scheduled to help out: Akok Akok (F), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Josiah Harris (F), Kobe Johnson (G), Jose Perez (G), Quinn Slazinski (F), Pat Suemnick (F) and Seth Wilson (G).

“We’re excited to announce our Youth Basketball Camp sponsored by GoMart Stores! This is a FREE camp for both boys and girls in elementary and middle school. Join us and the WVU men’s basketball team on Oct. 15 from 12-3 for an action-packed day of fun,” Country Roads Trust wrote on social media.

These eight players are looking to begin the 2023-24 season with a new look inside the program. WVU interim HC Josh Eilert will take over for a season before being evaluated at the end of the year. Eilert replaces Bob Huggins, who resigned after 16 seasons as head coach of the Mountaineers.

Eilert’s staff had to retool the roster twice this offseason, both before and after Huggins. After all of the chaos this offseason, West Virginia welcomes eight scholarship players and a walk-on to the team while returning Harris, Johnson, Perez, Suemnick and Wilson. With 14 players, transfers RaeQuan Battle and Noah Farrakhan will need waivers cleared by the NCAA to participate this season. If denied, both players are eligible starting in the 2024-25 season.
