WVU Basketball Signs 4-Star G Keonte Greybear
Ross Hodge and the WVU basketball program officially sign four-star freshman Keonte Greybear to a grant-in-aid deal to join the Mountaineers for the 2026-27 season.
Greybear, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard out of Lewisville, Texas, is rated as the 24th point guard in the country by ESPN. Showing his talent, he was also recruited by Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and a few others. He picked West Virginia and committed on April 23 after his official visit.
โKeonte is a versatile guard with great scoring instincts and athleticism,โ Hodge said in a statement. โHe has been well coached throughout his prep career and has played with and against high level competition. Heโs a high character student-athlete, and we are excited to add him to our Mountaineer basketball program.โ
Playing in the Grind Session, Greybear averaged 19.9 points per game while shooting 44% from the floor and 31% from 3-point range.
Greybear posted 43 points and 12 rebounds in a 93-90 win against Winston-Salem Christian (N.C.). He had 29 points and four assists in a 73-70 win against West Oaks (Fla.) and had 27 points, five rebounds and three steals against Gillion Academy (Va.). Greybear was named to the All-Grind Session Team.
Greybear previously attended Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, and Emerson High School. He played AAU basketball for MoKan Elite. Greybear was a Nike Elite 100 Invitee.
