WVU Commit Brings Backyard Brawl Energy to Pitt Commit at HS Game

The Backyard Brawl rivalry between WVU and Pitt was felt up in New Jersey on this Friday night under lights.
When West Virginia defensive end commit Elijah Kinsler took the field for Bergen Catholic, he knew he was facing off against a player headed to the arch rival of the Mountaineers. And Kinsler let Pitt linebacker commit Davin Brewton know all about the college he’s representing as they met at midfield before the game.
As they jawed back and forth, Kinsler can be heard shouting “eat s***, Pitt” in the direction of Brewton. It’s unclear what Brewton said back, but no hand shaking occurred on this high school football field.
Shades of the Backyard Brawl up in NJ tonight, as #WVU commit @KinslerElijah had some words for #Pitt commit @davbrewt ๐ซฃ

The WVU coaching staff has to like two things about this from Kinsler. First off, he’s already has the Backyard Brawl and a hatred of Pitt engrained in him. Second, this further displays his true commitment to WVU.
Listed at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Kinsler is a highly sought after defensive end prospect set to graduate in 2024. Prior to locking in as a future Mountaineer, he had 10 total offers on the table before, including several from prominent schools. Ironically enough, Pitt was among the schools to offer Kinsler.
It’s fair to say WVU fans likely like Kindler already.
