WVU Football Sends Opportunity to 2027 Iowa Edge

Always on the search for quality pass rushers, the WVU football staff extended an offer to an Iowa edge drawing interest from several other Power Four programs.

Ryan Paulsen, listed at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, revealed his West Virginia offer early in the month, adding the Mountaineers to his growing list. Pauline also has offers from major conference schools like Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota and Missouri, spanning the Big Ten and the SEC as well as the Big 12.

He also has other offer notable offers from North Texas, Northern Illinois and South Dakota.

Paulsen currently attends Central DeWitt High School in DeWitt, Iowa, performing to both an All-District and an All-State level in 2025.

With an ability to play all over the field, Paulsen also has experience at both defensive end and offensive line. He recorded 40 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, five sacks and a forced fumble as a junior.
