WVU Football Targeting Popular WR/Kickoff Return Star in Portal

Even after already experiencing some success in the transfer portal, Rich Rodriguez and his WVU football staff are still looking for more talent and depth, especially at wide receiver. And one of their latest wide receiver targets comes from a Big 12 program.
Over the weekend, WVU extended an offer to BYU transfer wide out/special teams star Keelan Marion. The Mountaineers are now involved in a competition for Marion with a significant number of Power Four school. Colorado, Syracuse, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech all offered Marion since West Virginia joined the mix.
Marion (6-foot, 195 pounds) has also been drawing interest from major brands like Arkansas, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Miami (FL) and Tennessee so far.
With already four years of college football under his belt, Marion’s experience and versatility are likely why he’s become such a popular transfer target. Marion made 24 receptions for 346 yards with a touchdown in 2024 with BYU.ย Prior to his two seasons with the Cougars, Marion started his college career at UConn.
In addition to his production as a receiver, Marion has a reputation as one of the best returners in the country. He was a first-team All-American return specialist and was named the Big 12 Kick Returner of the Year for last season.
Marion totaled 472 yards in return yardage and took two returns all the way for touchdowns.
