West Virginia fifth-year senior guard Erik Stevenson was selected to the All-Big 12 Third Team on Sunday night. Stevenson was the only Mountaineer honored in the Big 12 regular season awards.

The WVU guard joins LJ Cryer (Baylor), Kevin McCullar (Kansas), Sir’Jabari Rice (Texas) and Kalib Boone (Oklahoma State) on the conference’s third team.

Stevenson is in his first and final season at West Virginia after playing at three different schools during his first four years of college basketball. The Lacey, Wa. native posted 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists through 31 regular season games. Stevenson posted two 30-point games this season and is averaging 24.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals in his previous five games.

Stevenson will lead West Virginia into the Big 12 Conference Tournament this week in Kansas City as the Mountaineers look to play for NCAA Tournament seedings. WVU and Texas Tech will tipoff in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2/U.
