WVU’s RaeQuan Battle Wins Big 12 Player of the Week for Second Time

WVU G RaeQuan Battle has won the Big 12 Player of the Week award for a second consecutive week, per release. Battle shares the award this week with Texas Tech’s Pop Isaacs.

Last week, Battle took home the conference’s player and newcomer of the week. Battle has played two weeks of the season, earning awards in both weeks.

Battle (6-foot-5) played one game this past week vs. Ohio State. The Montana State transfer recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes of play. Battle shot 9-of-19 from the field against the Buckeyes and also took away three steals.

Through three games, Battle is averaging 27.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals. According to The Portal Report’s DUNK metric system, Battle is averaging the most fantasy points per game out of any transfer from this past offseason’s class.
