WVU Women’s Basketball to Host NCAA Tournament Regional
WVU women’s basketball has officially earned a top-16 seed in the NCAA Tournament this season, meaning there will be a regional played in Morgantown.
The announcement came during the first-ever early reveal of the top 16 seeds, aired on ESPN.
The WVU women’s basketball team comes into the postseason after its best season under head coach Mark Kellogg with a 27-6 regular season record and 14-4 mark in the Big 12. The Mountaineers secured an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big 12 Championship for the first time since 2017.
The Mountaineers also secured the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight season with senior guard Jordan Harrison. Guard JJ Quinerly earned the award the past two seasons under Kellogg.
