WVU’s Davis, Watters Named to All-Big 12 Preseason Team

The Big 12 announced the all-conference preseason baseball team, on Wednesday. West Virginia’s OF Austin Davis and P Jacob Watters were named to the 2022 All-Big 12 Preseason Team.

Davis, a senior from Orlando, FL, was named to the All-Big 12 Honorable Mention list at the conclusion of the 2021 season. The outfielder hit for .320 in 51 games played, with 18 runs batted in. On defense, Davis showed off his speculator plays in the outfield as he was on SportsCenter’s Top Ten plays, twice.

Watters enters his third season as a starting pitcher for West Virginia. The right-handed pitcher appeared in 19 games last season, making a start. Watters posted a 3.33 ERA, allowing 10 earned runs in 27.0 innings pitched. Watters struck out 53 batters.
