DeVillasee, 5 -foot-7, is from Owings Mills, Md. and plays at Our Lady of Good Counsel. DeVillasee has picked up offers from many high-major programs.
West Virginia WBB is also in the running for 2025 guard Bryn Martin, she announced in June.
Martin has included the Mountaineers with Clemson, Dayton, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Washington.
Martin is a rising senior at Springboro High School, which is just south of Dayton, Ohio. The 6-foot-1 recruit also plays for West Virginia Thunder UAA. As a junior, Martin averaged 21.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists as Springboro won the OHSAA Division-I state title.
WVU women’s basketball has momentum going within the program, coming off a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament under Mark Kellogg’s first season. The Mountaineers ended up falling to the eventual national runner-ups in Iowa. Kellogg finished 25-8 during his first year at WVU, the most wins ever by a first-year coach at West Virginia. WVU was ranked nine weeks in the Associated Press poll.
WV Sports Now will provide updates on West Virginia women’s basketball recruiting.
