2025 Morgantown HS K/P Commits to WVU Football
The WVU football program added a homegrown pierce to the future of its special teams unit when local product Aidan Stire committed to West Virginia.
Stire (6-foot, 185 pounds), who will be a senior at Morgantown High School, posted a message with his commitment on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

“First off I would like to thank God for allowing me to be here today and keeping me safe while playing the game I love. I want to thank my parents, who are my biggest supporters, along with the rest of my family for being there and for their encouragement in helping me achieve my dream. I also want to express my gratitude to my high school coaches for their guidance and support in sharpening my skills and helping me on and off the field. Thank you to Coach (Neal) Brown, Coach (Jeff) Koonz and Coach (Tony) Thompson for this incredible opportunity. I am honored and excited to announce my commitment to play football for West Virginia University,” said Stire in his letter.
Stire took part in football camps at schools like Marshall and UCF, but decided to stay home and be a Mountaineer. Stire’s West Virginia offer came recently back on June 5.
Stire is coming off a season in which he recorded 39 touchbacks on 50 kickoffs as a junior in 2023. He also made 34 of his 35 extra-point attempts. As a punter, Stire posted an average of 41.96 yards. These numbers are according to a post on his X account.
Stire is the only kicker/punter committed to be part of WVU’s 2025 class.
