Ex-WVU Cornerback Daryl Porter Jr. to Transfer to Miami

Daryl Porter Jr. is leaving the mountains of West Virginia for sunny Florida, making the announcement with a post to Twitter on Thursday night.

Porter was vacillating between Miami, LSU, Florida State, and Oregon. In the end, the cornerback followed former defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae to Gainesville.

Addae recently moved from the same job at Georgia, which he had been in since leaving head coach Neal Brown’s Mountaineers in 2021. The secondary connection will remain strong in the Sunshine State for Addae and Porter.

Porter played in 19 games over two seasons with the Mountaineer secondary and notched 46 tackles (40 solo), one TFL, one interception, and five pass break-ups. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining with Miami.
