Former Mountaineer and current Best Virginia head coach Jarrod West now has a new job to dive into after the TBT.

On Tuesday, West announced that he’s joining the staff of the Glenville State women’s basketball team as an assistant coach.

“Officially just wanted to introduce myself as Glenville state women’s assistant coach,” said West as part of a post on X (formerly Twitter).

West, who played at WVU from 1994-98, was recently revealed as the new head coach of the Best Virginia team in this summer’s TBT. He also has been recently serving as the head coach of Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg.

West is remembered fondly by Mountaineer fans for hitting the game-winning shot in the second round of the 1998 NCAA Tournament to beat Cincinnati and send West Virginia to the Sweet 16.

The TBT returns to West Virginia this year as the 2025 West Virginia Regional will be played in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center from July 18-23. Charleston previously hosted TBT regionals in 2021 and 2022.
