Gameday WVU vs. Long Island: September 11
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Milan Puskar Stadium will be abuzz today with fans for the first time since 2019. The Mountaineers are favored by 48.5 points over the FCS’ Long Island University Sharks. Both these team enter today’s match 0-1, but WVU’s 30-24 loss at the Maryland Terrapins still stings… and the Mountaineers are seeking revenge.
In Thursday’s iteration of The Neal Brown Show, head coach Brown said, “The way we played on Saturday doesn’t represent what we want to stand for. It’s everybody in our program. It’s not just one side of the ball or one staff member or myself. It’s everybody. The product we put out needs to match who we want to be, and that’s a tough, physical football team that doesn’t beat itself.”

At the end of the first quarter today @WVUfootball, we’ll remember those killed on 9-11, including two FDNY members with ties to the Long Island football team, as well as former WVU football player Chris Gray. It promises to be a very moving tribute. 🎙 🇺🇸 #16 #neverforget
