Report: Konate will hold out of Raptors Summer League to continue injury rehab

According to Blake Murphy of The Athletic, former West Virginia forward Sagaba Konate will not participate in the Toronto Raptors Summer League games.

Konate signed with Toronto as an undrafted free agent the day following the 2019 NBA Draft. He only appeared in eight games for the Mountaineers in the 2018-19 season, due to a significant knee injury.

For those that believed that the knee was not the issue, might find themselves retracting on that belief now. Murphy says that he is still trying to recover from the injury.

Konate is on an “Exhibit 10” contract which is essentially a one year deal for the minimum salary and an invite to camp. Once camp concludes, the organization will choose to give him a two-way contract and assign him to the G-League or place him on waivers.
