All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Defensive tackle Nate Gabriel saw action in 12 of 13 games during his true freshman season, fast becoming part of the Mountaineers’ defensive line rotation.

The former three-star recruit made the most of his 128 snaps taken, picking up nine total tackles (five solo) and 0.5 sacks. Sticking with the Mountaineers through their coaching change, the 6-foot-3, 300 pound Gabriel will look to build on his debut season during 2025.

69 • Nate Gabriel, sophomore defensive line

Last year: After enrolling in January 2024, Gabriel burned a redshirt year as the Mountaineers opted to send him on the field in 12 of 13 games.

Stats: Gabriel picked up nine tackles, five of them solo, along with 0.5 quarterback sacks.

Camp outlook: New WVU Football defensive coordinator Zac Alley will figure out how to best incorporate Gabriel into his scheme, whether as a starter or in a rotational role.

Projected role: If Gabriel can’t carve out a starting job, expect a bigger share of playing time as he continues to learn the ropes.

Accolades, highlights: A three-star recruit, Gabriel played alongside former Mountaineer Aubrey Burks at Florida’s Auburndale High School.
