Women’s Soccer Begins Historic Season

Published

on

Just weeks after claiming its first-ever preseason No. 1 ranking, the Lady Mountaineers soccer team is set to kick off the 2017 campaign against No. 5 Georgetown in Washington, D.C today.

The Hoyas and Mountaineers both found themselves in the 2016 College Cup but lost to the eventual national champion in Southern California in the semifinals and finals, respectively.

West Virginia holds a 14-4-2 advantage over Georgetown in the 20 meetings between the two programs.

Kickoff is now set for 1 pm today after inclement weather scratched the 4 pm start.
