WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and an Ohio-led coalition filed a joint motion on Friday with the NCAA, requesting to extend the 14-day TRO that was issued earlier in the week. This extension would go through the winter and spring sports seasons.

“Let the kids play,” Morrisey wrote in his press release.

Morrisey went further explaining his request on social media.

“Our bipartisan state-based coalition, led by my friend Ohio AG Dave Yost, just filed a joint motion with the NCAA requesting an extension of our temporary restraining order against the NCAA’s transfer eligibility policy. This joint motion would freeze our TRO through at least the winter and spring sports seasons.

If the judge signs the order, we will eliminate any question about who can play this winter on the hardwood. #NCAA #LetThemPlay #RaeQuan Thanks also go out to RaeQuan’s attorney — Rocky Gianola — for his diligence in representing RaeQaun.”

West Virginia’s basketball program announced on Friday that RaeQuan Battle and Noah Farrakhan are dressing and will be available to play vs. UMass. This TRO request could give both student-athletes eligibility past Dec. 27 and throughout the season.
