UPDATE – 2:37 p.m.
WVU football coach Neal Brown said linebacker Josh Chandler-Semedo’s status for Saturday’s game is still uncertain. Chandler-Semedo did not play in WVU’s most recent game against TCU and Brown did not know his status last Tuesday to start WVU’s off week. Brown said Chandler-Semedo ran last week but his status is still in question for Saturday’s matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners.

UPDATE – 12:32 p.m.
The Athletic put out a story about assistant college basketball coaches ready to take on their own programs and mentioned WVU assistant Erik Martin. Here’s part of what they wrote about the longtime Huggins assistant:
“He has been integral in developing the Mountaineers’ big men and probably is right at the career inflection point where running his own show makes sense, assuming West Virginia is as good as everyone thinks it will be this season.”
Some of them should be in play for bigger jobs this spring. Some of them could stand to rise head coach if the current boss gets another job elsewhere.
But these are 25 men's basketball assistant coaches on the rise all the same.
