Davoan Hawkins hopes to be dancing his way to the NFL. The defensive lineman officially revealed his plans to declare for the NFL Draft on Wednesday afternoon.

Hawkins leaves WVU after only one season after transferring to West Virginia from Tennessee State last year. After posting 31 total tackles in 2022, Hawkins recorded just seven as a Mountaineer. He did also add a sack in 2023.

At the time of his transfer, Hawkins told WV Sports Now that he was hoping the WVU coaches could help get him to the next level.

He leaves Morgantown as a fan favorite, mostly for his big personality and dance moves.

Hawkins’ announcement came soon after his teammate Malachi Ruffin also posted about his pursuit of the NFL.
