Rasul Douglas Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week After Big Game

Former Mountaineer Rasul Douglas earned a major honor for his big game on Sunday. The WVU product has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

On New Year’s Eve, Douglas had the game of his life for the Bills. He has two interceptions, one of which he took all the way to the house for a touchdown.

In addition to the two picks, the defensive back also had another pass deflection. This big game is just one of many in his career and comes two months after being traded by the Packers to Buffalo. Doulas was added as an extra piece to help the Bills’ playoff push.

The 28-year-old Douglas is now on his seventh different NFL team after being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of WVU. After winning being part of a Super Bowl champion right away with the Eagles, the WVU product has spent time with the Panthers, Raiders, Texans, Cardinals and has been with Green Bay since 2021.

Rasul Douglas has recorded 381 tackles, 74 pass deflections, 19 interceptions, three defensive scores and a sack to this point in his NFL career. Douglas now has 5 interceptions on the season overall.
