This might be surprising at this point, WVU is still receiving votes in major polls.

Despite losing in the final seconds to a Houston team that’s only now 3-3 even after the win, West Virginia has still earned votes in both the Associated Press and Coaches Poll. The Mountaineers recorded one vote in the AP top 25 and then three in the Coaches Poll. Prior to the loss to Houston, WVU gained 24 votes from AP voters the week before while on a bye.

No matter what, the most important thing for West Virginia is to get back to winning and move to 5-2 (3-1). Most importantly, WVU is still very much in the Big 12 race.

Up next for the Mountaineers is a return home and a date with Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State. Kickoff from Milan Puskar Stadium between WVU and the Cowboys is set for 3:30 pm ET.
