WVU Product, Seahawks QB Geno Smith Fails to Deliver Win on Christmas Eve

Geno Smith couldn’t deliver a win on Christmas Eve.

Seattle’s playoff lives are now in serious danger after their 24-10 loss to Kansas City on Saturday. After an historically great stretch to open the season, Smith’s numbers regressed some in recent weeks, including against the Chiefs. Without Smith playing at a Superman like level, the Seahawks have now lost five out of six.

The WVU Sports Hall of Famer, who received a Pro Bowl spot for his individual play throughout most of the season, was 25 of 40 for 215 yards with a touchdown and an interception on the day. He did run for 16 yards as well. But Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs proved too much, controlling the game from start to finish.

Even though he won’t be able to add a start in a playoff game to his career resurgence, Smith and the Seahawks have two more games left in this season.
