WVU Quarterback Commit Nicco Marchiol Nearly Perfect to Begin Senior Season
After watching West Virginia’s performance against Maryland to begin the season, especially redshirt senior quarterback Jarret Doege’s poor performance, Mountaineer faithful needs a reason for optimism.
Look no further than 2022 four-star quarterback commit Nicco Marchiol.
In Hamilton High School’s first game of the 2021 season, Marchiol didn’t even need to see the second half. In a half of football, he threw for five touchdowns. Marchiol’s dual-threat ability, with a cannon of an arm and agile legs, allowed Hamilton to run away with a huge week one victory.
So… @MarchiolNicco has 5 touchdown passes in the first half against Desert Ridge. 👀

In Hamilton’s 56-7 victory over Desert Ridge High School Friday, Marchiol put up some video game-like numbers. He completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 345 yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, he took six carries for 63 more yards on the grounds. That’s 400 yards and five touchdowns.
In eight games last season, Marchiol’s first with Hamilton, he threw 11 touchdowns. In just one game as a senior at Hamilton, it’s clear his full year of preparation and chemistry with his offense has paid, almost reaching half his touchdown production in just one half.
With a full season in Arizona’s 6-A Premier league, expect Marchiol and Hamilton to put together an immense season.
While there isn’t too much footage of Hamilton’s week one win of Desert Ridge, DevilsDigest recruiting analyst Cody Cameron shared footage of Hamilton’s preseason scrimmage.
