KeyShawn Adams picks Virginia over WVU Football

Class of 2024 defensive back KeShawn “KeKe” Adams chose Virginia over West Virginia and others on Saturday afternoon. Adams is a three-star prospect.

The Connecticut native picked the Cavaliers over three other schools during an event on Saturday. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Adams had narrowed his final list of choices down to Duke, Connecticut, Virginia and West Virginia.

Adams, who attends Old Farms High School in Avon, Connecticut, is regarded as a three-star player by most outlets and considered among the top defensive back recruits in the New England region.

247 Sports has him ranked as the No. 10 recruit in Connecticut. Adams is considered a safety by most outlets.

For his recruiting timeline, Adams was offered by WVU in March. He recently took an official visit to Virginia.

WVU is trying to acquire as much talent for the secondary as possible, knowing the program will likely lose some cornerbacks and safeties after the 2023 season and needs more depth regardless. West Virginia recently gained a commitment from a three-star cornerback for 2024.
