“I’m gonna be back.” That’s what three-star offensive line recruit Ryan Howerton said about his recent experience at WVU.

Howerton (6-foot-5, 300 pounds), a class of 2024 prospect out of St, Vincent Pallotti in Laurel, Maryland, said “had the best weekend!” in a message to Mountaineer Nation after his official visit in West Virginia. He has also plastered images of himself wearing a WVU uniform all over his Instagram.

While it’s common for recruits to promote a visit with any college program, especially a major brand name like WVU, and to even express how much they enjoyed their time on campus, this can still be all be viewed as a positive sign for the Mountaineers in their pursuit of a highly coveted player.

Howerton has also traveled to Morgantown several times since receiving an official offer back in January. But in addition to West Virginia, Howerton has offers from Akron, Boston College, his home state school of Maryland, Old Dominion, who sent him an offer after his WVU visit, Pitt, Temple, Toledo and Virginia Tech.

With another season of high school football ahead of him, it’s very likely Howerton will keep earning more offers throughout the rest of the summer and into the fall.

Based on the effort put in so far, it appears the WVU football program is keeping Howerton as a priority and looking to continue strengthening their relationship with a player who can help rebuild the offensive line into the future.
