Despite already being fully committed, 2026 defensive back recruit Emory Snyder still wanted to experience the “red carpet” treatment during his WVU football official visit.

And then following his weekend in Morgantown, Snyder feels even more confident he made the right decision to become a future Mountaineer.

“Had a great OV weekend in Morgantown! Thank you for the hospitality all weekend! Can’t wait to be back!!,” posted Snyder when he returned home to Bixby, Okla.

Back in April, Snyder (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) picked WVU over offers from programs like Colorado State, Rice, Washington State and several others. After being offered by WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley in early February, Snyder made a couple trips to Morgantown and was vocal about his interest in West Virginia.

He visited fellow Big 12 schools Oklahoma State and TCU right before committing to WVU.

Snyder totaled 45 tackles, 14 passes defended, six interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery during his 2024 high school season.

At the time, Snyder became WVUโ€™s fifth commit of their 2026 class, joining quarterback Jyron Hughley, running back Jett Walker, wide receiver Jeffar Jean-Noel, and tight end Sam Hamilton.
