All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.

A three-star recruit out of South Carolina’s Westside High, cornerback ChaMarryus Bomar took a redshirt year during his first season of college football, appearing in just two games.

Recruited as an ‘ATH’ with potential on both sides of the ball out of high school, Bomar stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 184 pounds, a shifty, speedy athlete with a nose for the end zone.

WVU Football needs to overhaul their secondary after putting together one of the worst passing defenses of any Power Four program last season, so Bomar could gain an immediate leg up in the cornerback position battle after having a year to learn and develop last season.

His brother, Armoni Weaver-Bomar, also plays for the Mountaineers, a testament to the family’s athletic talent… and if ChaMarryus Bomar can’t separate from the pack at cornerback, his skill with the ball in his hands could make him a spark plug on special teams.

27 • ChaMarryus Bomar, redshirt freshman cornerback

Last Year: Bomar received snaps against Robert Morris and Texas Tech, preserving a redshirt year.

Stats: One assisted tackle across two games played in 2025.

Post-Camp Outlook: The Mountaineers’ secondary has plenty of room for growth after posting one of the worst passing defenses in all of Division I – FBS last season. After a year to learn defensive coordinator Zac Alley’s system, Bomar could begin working his way up the food chain this season.

Projected Role: Expect Bomar to compete for playing time as a nickel cornerback and on special teams in 2026; with a strong summer camp performance, he could even jump into the starting lineup in a secondary with plenty of open spots.

Accolades, Highlights: Bomar starred on both sides of the ball in high school, racking up more than 1,200 receiving yards and adding defensive and special teams touchdowns during his senior season. If he gets his hands on the ball, he’s an immediate scoring threat.
