College Football 25 Update: WVU Players, New Uniform Added to Popular Game
Perhaps a good omen for WVU this season, a few updates in the popular College Football 25 video game will make West Virginia fans even more excited to play as the Mountaineers.
As of Thursday morning, two players who were previously left out of the game are now available. Both tight end Kole Taylor and defensive back Jaheem Joseph are on the roster after not being included in the initial release and any of the prior updates.
Player Ratings
- Taylor: 82
- Joseph: 77
But that’s not all!
In addition to filling out WVU’s roster with key players, West Virginia’s new Coal Rush uniforms are in the game as well.

So since the Mountaineers won’t be wearing them when they open the season on Saturday against Penn State, fans can actually see WVU wearing their black look in the game before it happens in real life.
Adding the players also clears up confusion as to why they weren’t in the game in the first place, especially in regards to Taylor.
Earlier in the month, the WVU tight explained to the media that he did opt into game, but received an email telling him he was not selected to be in the game. Believing this was an error, Taylor and the West Virginia program are working to get him added to the game as part of an update.

When Taylor came to West Virginia last year, he did so on the promise he would receive more of an opportunity as a pass catcher. Taylor is now looking to build off his 2023 with an even more productive 2024. He recently revealed that he’s striving for 50 catches based on the work he’s been putting in with quarterback Garrett Greene.
After spending three years in the SEC with LSU, Taylor transferred to WVU in January of 2023. He then recorded 35 receptions for 444 yards and scored four touchdowns, giving the Mountaineers the program’s most prolific tight end in years.
As for Joseph, the Northwestern transfer signed with West Virginia on March 21.
Joseph (5-foot-10, 190 pounds), who will have two years of eligibility as a graduate transfer, committed to West Virginia less than 10 days after receiving an offer. He entered the transfer portal on Feb. 5.
The Florida native and Pace High School product totaled 24 tackles, three interceptions and one pass breakup in 13 games during the 2023 season. Joseph ended his career with the Wildcats in style. He intercepted two passes in their bowl win over Utah.
